What is stackable learning design?

Stackable learning is an education model where learners build their skills over time through modular, short-form learning units, that we call stacks. These learning units or stacks accumulate toward larger credentials, competencies, or goals. It allows learners to:
  • Learn in smaller chunks: Courses, microcredentials, or badges that focus on a single skill or outcome. 
  • Stack those chunks: Each completed stack builds toward a bigger milestone like a certificate, degree, portfolio or even job opportunity. 
  • Move at their own pace: Students can learn when it fits their schedule, returning to stack more when they are ready.
  • Customizable: We believe in custom skills design, and stackable learning is a way to achieve custom skills for better results.
